Shared Company Auditions, March 18, 2023   

A.I.M by Kyle Abraham    Brian Brooks/Moving Company     Sidra Bell Dance New York 

A.I.M by Kyle Abraham will host a shared audition with Brian Brooks/Moving Company and Sidra Bell Dance New York on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. These renowned dance makers are seeking dancers to fill paid full-time and part-time positions for upcoming and future performance seasons. Artists of color and of all gender identities are strongly encouraged to attend. All candidates will be seen by all choreographers, and potential additional choreographers in hopes of finding more opportunities for all participating artists. A.I.M is seeking dynamic and virtuosic dancers for future performance and touring seasons. Applicants must show an interest in an investigative process that includes an open mind and a willingness to work in a collaborative group environment. A.I.M performs domestically and internationally approximately 25 weeks of a calendar year. Community engagement is a central tenet of A.I.M’s organizational activities, with A.I.M company members leading workshops and technique classes of various levels. 

A.I.M artistic personnel consists of full-time and part-time dancers. Compensation currently ranges from $46k-$66K/year for full-time dancers and $22-$30/hour for part-time dancers; commensurate with experience, based on company tenure, and reviewed annually for cost-of-living and merit-based increases. Dancers receive an annual length of service increase after five-years of employment. Full-time dancers are supported with 52-week salaries, health insurance, and paid vacations/sick days. All A.I.M dancers receive creation royalties in perpetuity, applicable retirement contributions, and bodywork.

Audition Process for Interested Dancers

Pre-registration is required to secure an audition slot. Candidates will be seen March 18th in time slots between 10am and 8pm. If interested in auditioning, please submit a headshot and resume through this Google Form. A time slot, New York-based audition location, Covid safety protocols, and short video phrase to learn (prior to your audition) will be sent within two weeks of submission. We will be accepting submissions Feb 1 - 17th or until capacity is reached. If capacity is reached you will be placed on a waiting list.

Callbacks for A.I.M will take place March 19th with further potential callbacks March 20th-24th or future dates. Brian Brooks/Moving Company will hold callbacks beginning March 20th. SBDNY will contact potential future candidates for virtual interview on March 25th and subsequent in person callbacks.
