Ballroom Teacher Wanted

Jamel Gaines Creative Outlet is seeking an experienced Ballroom Dance Instructor for our Brooklyn based Arts In Education Program. Candidate will teach twice a week, approximately 5 to six hours a day at $55 an hour for five weeks.
As an arts and culture non-profit organization, we are dedicated to providing affordable and accessible programming to our community. The ideal candidate is passionate about ballroom dance, has experience teaching kids ages 8 to 13, possesses excellent communication and teaching skills, and will be able to create a final presentation with the students at the end of the five weeks.

Responsibilities:
• Teach ballroom dance classes (open to an array of styles) to public school students ages 8 to 13
• Develop and implement a lesson plan
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
• Provide individualized feedback and support to students to help them improve their skills
• Must be punctual, tardiness is not allowed
• Must communicate regularly with our Arts In Education Coordinator

Requirements:
•  Degree in Dance or related field preferred
• Minimum of 3 years experience teaching ballroom dance
• Knowledge of various ballroom dance styles including but not limited to Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Cha Cha, Rumba,  Swing, etc.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and skill levels
• Must pass a background check
