JCE Jazz Dance Project

Two male dancers in white and silver costumes in a grand jete leap. Jan La Salle

Jazz Choreography Enterprises is seeking submissions for consideration for our fall 2023 production of the JCE Jazz Dance Project. The performances will take place at the KnJ Theater at Peridance (https://www.peridance.com) on Saturday, October 28th, at 8:00 and Sunday, October 29th, at 4:00. Tech rehearsal will be on Friday, October 27, 2023, from 8:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.

We must receive a video link to youtube or vimeo of the complete work to be presented by Sunday, July 30, 2023. The dance must be between two and eight minutes long. Rehearsal video is fine, but the dance must be finished, not a work-in-progress.

The choreography must be original (not a re-creation of someone else’s work), and it must be jazz—funk, lyrical, theater jazz, contemporary jazz, Latin jazz, Afro jazz, etc., are all fine. We can pay for up to six dancer stipends ($40/dancer). You may have more than six dancers, but we can pay for only six stipends.

Please see our website for more information about submission requirements: https://jazzchoreography.com/guidelines. Contact info@jazzchoreography.com for more information or to submit your work.

A dancer in a black tutu and leotard and pointe shoes stands on one leg, with the other leg extended behind the body in a straight line. One arm is raised above the head and the other extended to the back parallel to the extended leg. The school director is opposite the dancer and wears a red DTH logo t-shirt and black pants and ballet slippers. She holds the hand of the arm raised above the dancer’s head with one arm and her back arm is extended and she is smiling at the student.
