MISSION: Our mission is to promote as many forms of dance as possible making the 17th Annual Dance Parade a united nations of dance with everything from ballet to breakdance. We believe live performance has the potential to awaken a communal human spirit which helps build a more equitable and vibrant society,

We are seeking passionate individuals to support us in ensuring the parade steps off at the correct time and in the proper order. 

As a volunteer, your primary responsibility will be to assist in organizing and coordinating the parade, including placing dance groups in position and "zipping" them together in the formation area. The parade will culminate at 12 noon, starting at Sixth Avenue and 17th Street on Saturday

In addition to facilitating the parade flow in the formation area, we are also looking for volunteers to serve as "marshals." As a marshal, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and joyous event by protecting pedestrians from floats and managing large crowds in the formation area and along the parade route.

Please be available for an All-Team Meet on ZOOM on Monday night, May 15th at 9pm.

Responsibilities:

Support the coordination and organization of the parade

Ensure the parade steps off at the correct time and in the proper order

Assist in separating vehicles from individual dancers and bringing them together in the formation area

Act as marshals to ensure the safety of participants and spectators

Manage large crowds and protect pedestrians from floats

Provide general support throughout the parade route

Qualifications:

Passionate and enthusiastic about supporting community events

Reliable and punctual, able to commit to a full 6-hour shift

Strong organizational and coordination skills

Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to manage large crowds and prioritize safety
