Audition Peridance Contemporary Dance Company

WE ARE SEEKING:

Technically skillful contemporary dancers, with strong versatility, musicality, and stage presence?

AUDITION DETAILS?

Peridance Contemporary Dance Company will conduct an open audition on Friday, August 4th. Dancers will be assigned a 1h15 slot (10:00-11:15am, 11:30-12:45pm, 1:00pm-2:15pm, 3:00-4:15pm, 4:30-5:45pm, 6:00 - 7:15pm). Callbacks will be held Saturday August 5th from 9:00am - 12:00pm, with a potential additional callback Sunday, August 6 from 2:00 - 5:00pm. Dancers must be based in NYC at the start of employment. There is no fee to audition.?

To register, please complete the Google form HERE. Registration is required and will close at midnight on Wednesday, July 26th. ?

You will be notified by Friday evening, July 28th, what time your audition slot will be on the 4th. Please bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume to the audition. The audition will be comprised of a 30 min barre, followed by 45 min of repertoire. An open studio will be available throughout the day if you wish to warm up prior to your audition. Ballet shoes are not required. 

 

POSITION DETAILS?

PCDC seeks to fulfill part-time Company Dancer contracts as well as additional Trainee contracts, and encourages dancers of any gender and background to audition. Both Company Dancer and Trainee contracts will be from September 2023 through August 2024.  Fall rehearsals include preparation for winter performances at Peridance's KnJ Theater and the company’s spring performances in April 2024. Both Company Dancers and Trainees rehearse approximately 10-20 hours/week for approximately 26 weeks/year. Company Dancers are paid $20/hour for rehearsals and receive a $50-100 stipend per performance depending on scale of the event. Trainees are paid $50-$100 for performances. Both Company Members and Trainees receive additional pay for workshops and outreach events, have access to free space at Peridance when available, and receive free daily ballet classes and other discounted classes. When the Company tours, both Company Members and Trainees receive per diem. The Company is not a union company.
