Whispers of Rhythm: Emergence looking for dancers/ choreographers

 

Whispers of Rhythm invites dancers who are interested in collaborating as an individual or as a collective with a poet to co-create an up to 10-minute piece based on and arranged around the poetry created during the collaboration phase.

Performances will commence in late September on two consecutive nights and will be remunerated with $500/performance/poet-dancer ensemble.

All selected dancers will be challenged to create new choreography in collaboration with the paired poet(s) during the month of August, resulting in two public performances in late September on two consecutive nights. Each performance will have 5 collaborative groups of poetry & dance.

After submitting the proposal and application form, all selected dancers will be invited to a kick-off workshop where the producer & curator will pair up the groupings of co-collaborators in early August.

Remuneration: $500 per performance per ensemble (pairing of individual or group of dancers with a poet), which the ensemble may divide amongst themselves as they see fit.
