AnA Collaborations Seeks Performers for Immersive Dance Theater Work, premiering February 2024 in Seattle, WA

 

AnA Collaborations is seeking 3-4 contemporary dancers for a restaging of their immersive dance theater work, dragonslayer to premiere February 2024 in Seattle, Washington.

 

Each role requires:

-A dynamic and charismatic dancer with strong contact and/or partnering skills

-An interest in narrative and immersive performance

-An excellent contemporary dance technique

-2 years of professional experience

-21 - 45 years of age

-Availability for intermittent rehearsals in Fall 2023 (NYC and/ or Seattle), intensive rehearsal period Jan-Feb 2024 and 2-4 performances in February 2024 (Seattle). 


An audition, by invitation only, will take place in Seattle on Friday, September 29th and Saturday, September 30th from 10:00am - 5:00pm.

-A Video Link –Your video should include clips  of you ideally performing a solo or duet (however this can be highlighted within a group performance) and improvisation, lasting no longer than 3 minutes in length.

 

Suitable candidates will receive an invitation from anacollaborations@gmail.com to audition no later than 8pm Sunday, September 23rd.

 

WHAT TO KNOW:

Auditioning will occur over two days. Both days will include a warm-up that is designed to help wake up a range of textures and dynamics in the body. If you want a warm-up for general stretching and stability we recommend you take time to do this before your audition slot. 

On Friday, we will audition small groups from 10:00am - 5:00pm in 90 minute time slots. You will be able to indicate your availability for particular time slots on your application. On Saturday there will be a callback and dancers need to be available for the entire time, 10:00am-5:00pm.

The audition will include improvisation, phrase work, partnering, and theatrical games. Please wear whatever will help you move more freely, and bring your own water bottle.
