Announcing the inaugural cycle of the Flamenco Vivo Micro-Residency Program! This residency program was inspired by our desire to strengthen and build relationships within the dance community. The Flamenco Vivo Micro-Residency offers 10 hours of studio space within 1 calendar week at our home studios in Midtown Manhattan. In exchange, we ask that you teach a Community Master Class (1.5 hour to be determined by the availability of FV Studios and the artist), which will be free to professional dancers in the NYC community. While our space is best suited for percussive dance forms and those working in hard soled shoes, this residency is open to all choreographers, dancers, and performers who seek to research, explore and expand their practice. 

*** Please note that due to the nature of percussive dance, the floors may not be suitable for barefoot dancing. 

In an effort to remain equitable, this residency will be chosen on a lottery system based on completed applications. 2 artists will be selected in this cycle (application Cycle April 10th- April 24th, with micro-residency's taking place during May).

Requirements and Eligibility: 

-Plan to use all 10 hours of time 

-All residency hours must take place Mon-Fri 8AM-5:00PM

-There is no showing or performance requirement for this residency. 

-Teach a free 1.5 hour community class for professional dancers in the NYC community at FV Studios (this class is not part of your 10 hour studio allotment)

-Fill out our NYSCA intake form 

-Share one Post about your Community Class (or equivalent to be discussed if you do not have social media)

-Share one Story of yourself in our Space advertising our $10/hr rental rate  (or equivalent to be discussed if you do not have social media)

-Applicants can not have received free space or a residency from Flamenco Vivo in the last 6 months

-No compensation, travel or housing are provided as part of this residency
