About the Event

Forza Dance is thrilled to announce Shindig, a vibrant celebration of art, community, and culture taking place on September 6th and 7th at Teatro Latea in the Lower East Side. This dynamic event invites everyone, from seasoned dance lovers to curious newcomers, to experience an evening of live performances, visual art, and community connection.

Join us for the world premiere of La Tarantella, an evening-length work by Director Michaella Barron. Set to a new original score, this captivating performance explores the themes of Italian heritage and feminine strength, reimagining the classic southern Italian folktale through a contemporary lens. Audiences will witness a powerful narrative that delves into the emotional journey of women navigating a repressive patriarchal society.

Beyond the performance, Shindig offers a visual art gallery showcasing local talent and an exciting raffle with high-ticket prizes. Pre-show festivities begin at 6:00 PM, offering attendees a chance to enjoy interactive activities, live music, aperitivo, and more all within a welcoming and creative environment.

Shindig is designed to engage and inspire all attendees, making it a unique opportunity to explore dance from a fresh perspective. Forza Dance believes in breaking barriers and bridging gaps between age, gender, and culture to foster intimate human connections between audience and performer.

Event Details:
Date: September 6 and 7
Time: 7:00 PM (Pre-show event starts at 6:00 PM)
Location: Teatro Latea (107 Suffolk St. Lower East Side, NYC)
