Artemis is Burning seeks Actor/Dancer/Singers for Immersive Production

Project Description:

The Death of Rasputin is a debaucherous satire which unfolds as a party and brings to life the espionage and mysticism surrounding Rasputin and the Romanovs at the twilight of their rule. Our original script is a tour-de-force in which each character’s egomaniacal grasp for power leads to their downfall. The story features heavy dialogue, contemporary dance, slavic dancing and audience participation. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in acting and dance, and a passion for devising new work. Experience in playing musical instruments and singing is a plus. Some roles may require partial nudity.

Characters:

Rasputin - Actor/Dancer/Singer/(Guitar Player is a Plus) -  (30s-50s)

Charming, Mystic, Force of Nature, Mesmerizing Eyes, Healer, Saint, Sinner, Beard is a plus

Context: In a celebratory scene showcasing his power, Rasputin will moon the audience.
Body Parts Shown: The actor will be partially nude during this moment, showcasing backside.

 

Felix/Tatiana - Actor/Dancer/Singer  - (late 20s-40)

Petulant, Entitled, Intelligent, Cabaret Singer/Performer

*This role includes nudity
Context: Felix transitions into a cabaret singer and has multiple costume changes, including one during an intimate scene in which his shirt is open/off.
Body Parts Shown: The actor will be in undergarments during these costume changes.

 

Tzar - Actor/Mover -  (late 20s-40s)

Darkly Comedic, Child-like, Ignorant, Privileged

Context: This involves an intimate scene where the actors will wear sheer gowns and change into undergarments.
Body Parts Shown: The actors will be in undergarments and/or sheer gowns during this scene.

 

Tzarina - Actor/Dancer - (late 20s-40s)

Ambitious, Controlling, Gaslighting, Oblivious, Anxious

*This role contains nudity
Context: This involves an intimate scene where the actors will wear sheer gowns and change into undergarments.
Body Parts Shown: The actors will be in undergarments and/or sheer gowns during this scene.

 

Lohktina - Actor/Dancer/Witch - (20s-40s)

Mystic, Witchy, Devoted

*This role contains nudity
Context: This role includes a sensual scene focused on themes of power and control, requiring a change into undergarments into another dress and then back again.
Body Parts Shown: The actor will be in undergarments during this scene.

 

Gypsy - Dancer/Singer/Actor with Improvisational Skills - (30s-40s)

Host, Inviting, Sharp, Incendiary

 

Iliodor - Actor/Mover -  (mid 20s-60s)

Ceremonious, Jealous, Righteous

 

Dread Uncle - Actor/Mover - (40s-60s)

Domineering, Militant, Strategic, Insistent, Arrogant

When: Auditions by appointment on November 4th, with callbacks on November 5th.
