The Kennedy Dancers: Dance Festival Performance Application

We are excited to invite dance companies, organizations, and professional solo artists to apply for the Summer Dance Festival, held on Thursdays in July in Jersey City, NJ at J. Owen Grundy Pier, Exchange Place (accessible by PATH train or ferry). The Kennedy Dancers Repertory Company will also be performing. We welcome others to join us on stage with the beautiful backdrop of the Hudson River and Freedom Tower. This is a great opportunity to showcase your choreography to a family-friendly audience.

Event Details:

When: Every Thursday in July (July 10, 17, 24, 31). Each Thursday will feature different choreography and companies. The Kennedy Dancers will also perform.
Where: J. Owen Grundy Pier, Exchange Place & Hudson St, Jersey City, NJ 07302 (Across the Hudson River, opposite the Freedom Tower).
Evening Performances: Performances begin at 6:30 PM. Call time & setup at 5:30 PM, with 2-3 companies and the Kennedy Dancers performing each night.
Cost: Free to the public—A unique summer experience for everyone!

Requirements:

Must be a dance company, organization, or professional solo dance artist with at least two years of experience.
Performances will be outdoors on a resin wooden floor covered with a black marley dance floor (sound system will be provided in advance).
Performance must be family-friendly—only clean music (MP3 file must be provided in advance).
Theme: Uplifting, vibrant, and joyful dances that inspire and excite audiences. Please, no sad or depressing pieces.
Diversity is encouraged—we welcome dance performances that reflect different dance genres.

Submit a 10-minute performance video sample. If accepted, the submitted choreography and music must be the same as what will be performed at the event. We will contact you with available Thursdays if you are chosen.
Include a brief history of your company, organization, or yourself.
Compensation: There is no pay, but your performance will be featured on YouTube and available for download.
