A Taste of the Harlem Renaissance: Harlem's Jazz Dance - The Lindy Hop!

Join us for a Taste of The Harlem Renaissance thru Music, Dance and more!

FREE Event: Come join us for a historical and fun evening learning about an often overlooked portion of the Harlem Renaissance: Harlem's famed dance of the Lindy Hop!

As an Art movement, The Harlem Renaissance was an intellectual and cultural revival of African American music, dance, art, fashion, literature, theater and more. The development of Harlem in the early 20th Century resulted in a Black cultural mecca spanning the 1920s and 1930s. Many think of the Charleston as THE jazz dance of the 1920's, but around 1927 a dance from Harlem named the Lindy Hop came along....

Join us for an evening of some fun history and edutainment with dance lessons of various jazz dance steps! Then we will swing top off the evening with viewing rare film clips of Harlem, Jazz, Dance and more....

Space Limited; masks and social distance required. Look forward to seeing YOU!
