Aviva Geismar's new work, Dis/Location (Fort Tryon), is a 35-minute, site-specific dance exploring the experience of immigration. Performed on the rugged slope of the Billings Lawn in Fort Tryon Park, the work celebrates the history and beauty of the park and brings to light its often-unnoticed place in immigration history. Admission is free. Bring a lawn chair or blanket.  Rain location: City College Academy of the Arts, 4600 Broadway (at 196th street).

The program will also include two short dances about the immigrant journey created and performed by middle school students from City College Academy of the Arts, a largely immigrant school where Drastic Action teaches creative dance classes.

The Drastic Action company includes Nickemil Concepcion, Vladimir Campoy, Kaoru Ikeda, Hyunjin Kim, Mengying Lin, Sameena Mitta and Darla Stanley.
