Bomba Adult Dance Classes - Cycle 3 Alberik Lazaga

East Harlem-based Afro-Puerto Rican Bomba and Plena performing ensemble and nonprofit organization - Los Pleneros de la 21 - is proud to announce the 3rd cycle of the Bomba & Plena Adult Workshops in the Spring.  

Workshops feature 5 consecutive Saturdays (March 5th through April 2nd) of back to back percussion and dance sessions dedicated to exploring, deepening one's knowledge, skills and appreciation of these Traditional Puerto Rican folk genres.

DANCE CLASSES are open to Adults (17+) of all dance backgrounds and skill levels in an intensive 1 1/2 hour dance class that teachers movement fundamentals, dance techniques and other dance skills pertaining to this unique Puerto Rican dance form.

Classes are taught by Julia Gutiérrez-Rivera, one of the top Bomba dancers and educators of this generation. 

Live drumming in every session! Walk-in's welcomed and encouraged!

 Dancers are encouraged to bring comfortable clothes to move in and dance skirts if available. Skirts are available for public use on a limited, first-come, first-serve basis.
