Compagnie CNDC Angers-Robert Swinston

CNDC Angers-Robert Swinston Charlotte Audureau

“How wonderful to be brought the great American dance past by dancers from France,” proclaimed The New York Times in March 2015 when Compagnie CNDC–Angers / Robert Swinston made its Joyce debut.  A Merce Cunningham dancer and assistant to Cunningham for more than 30 years, Robert Swinston is supremely qualified to direct his company in performing the works of the master choreographer, and this season’s program will feature more gems from the Cunningham repertory, including Place (1966), How To Pass, Kick, Fall and Run (1965), and Inlets 2 (1983).  Set to music by John Cage, Inlets 2, one of Merce’s best-known nature studies, makes its Company premiere at The Joyce.

*Joyce Family Matinee features only Inlets 2 and How To Pass, Kick, Fall and Run.
