ABOUT ANNIE RIGNEY

Annie Rigney is a New York based dancer, choreographer, teacher, and Ilan Lev Practitioner. In 2010, Annie danced with the Batsheva Ensemble, the young company, performing works by Ohad Naharin and Sharon Eyal. She was a member of Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak Dance Company from 2011-2013, touring internationally with their works Oyster, Rushes, and Bombyx Mori. Annie graduated with a BFA in Dance and Composition from SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. She joined Punchdrunk's hit immersive theater show, Sleep No More (NYC) in 2015 where she is currently still a performing member. Annie has been a practicing Ilan Lev Practitioner since 2011, and brings her deep anatomical and energetic knowledge from her Somatic practice to her work and movement research. Her class aims to help dancers unlock their physical potential using imagery and sensation while giving them tools for efficiency of effort and self-treatment for injury.
