Contemporary Dance for Teens

There are no limits to the possibilities of contemporary dance; we learn from dance traditions and our natural environment, and as we expand our potential, dance evolves. As we ride the wave we stretch, turn, twist, sink, leap, roll, and shape the space around us and within. Teens are invited to dive into their anatomical awareness of breath and alignment, deepen conceptual understanding of rhythm and spatial patterns, and to open up and take flight as a group of artists creating and performing original work.

Ilona Bito is a dancer and educator working in greater NYC. She currently teaches at Williamsburg Movement Center, Abrons Art Center, and with the Movment Research program Dancer Makers in Schools. She performs with Kathy Westwater, the Commons Choir, and Adi Eytan.
