REDi DANCE CO.’s DANCE BRIDGE SUMMER WORKSHOP 2019 FOR AGES 12-18yrs:
REDi Dance Company seek preteens/teens who want to utilize their talents in a community that values self-discovery, community building, and story telling. Dance Bridge introduces participants to theatre games, writing assignments and discussions topics that inspire new ways of dancing and connecting. Participants present their own choreography in a final performance and take master classes with NYC professionals. Participants pay $50.00 (Venmo/Eventbrite) for all 5-workshop days and an opportunity to present work at Herbert H. Lehman College. We provided a safe space for teen artists to use dance making and artistic expression as a vehicle for effective story telling. Participants are challenged to push past fear and think outside the box to broaden their horizons. On the last day of every workshop the program holds a free final sharing for the community. Our aim is to establish a Bronx community of young people who are continuously CREATING and LEARNING the skills needed to speak their truth. Past and present Dance Bridge Workshop teaching artists include Ana "Rokafella", Jason Rodriguez "Slim", Candace Tabbs, Leah Tubbs, Moglii, Madelyn Sher, Roberto Parris, and Raymond Falcon.
