Dance Education Watch Party

A boy leaps through the air while his classmates and teacher watch with awe. Christopher Duggan

Last week, Mayor de Blasio announced significant cuts to the city’s budget, with drastic reductions impacting the Department of Education. The Mayor created a new advisory council on Arts, Culture, and Tourism that DID NOT include a seat for a representative from our dance community!

If dance is cut from our children’s curriculum, there will be a ripple effect through the infrastructure of dance education on all levels.

We’ve worked too hard, and we’ve made such incredible progress in supporting #danceforeverychild — we can’t stop now!

Join us to watch this inspiring, New York Emmy-nominated documentary film about dance education in NYC public schools. Then stay for a panel discussion with NYC dance educators and the filmmakers.
