Dance Parade 2024

Dance Parade Peter Cai

The 18th Annual DANCE PARADE, that grand celebration of dance featuring over 150 organizations representing more than 100 styles of dance from ballet to breakdance, thousands of paraders, 23 colorful floats, live bands, and you name it, will take place Saturday May 18th, beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 AM at 6th Avenue & 17th St.  On hand will be the 2024 Grand Marshals: Brenda Bufalino (tap); Lil Buck (Memphis Jookin); Martha Zarate-Alvarez (Mexican Folkloric); and Norman Siegel (Civil Liberties Advocate).   The Parade will start at 12 noon, and progress down 6th Avenue and across 8th Street, ending at Tompkins Square Park, where five stages have been set up for more performances, free dance lessons, partying and mingling.  Along the way, there will be brief performances by selected companies at the Grandstand, set up at 4th Avenue & 8th Street.  New York's biggest dance event - and free to the public!
