Doron Perk

Tuesday, 08/02 || 10:00-11:45am, $6

Gibney Dance: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center, 280 Broadway, NYC

Entrance 53A Chambers Street

The Playground NYC allows dancers to experience various choreographic styles and ideas, engage with a new community of dancers, and gather resourceful information and inspiration from the array of choreographers involved. In turn, established choreographers are paid for their creative investigations, are given free space to explore new movements with professional dancers, and are provided with the opportunity to establish relationships with new dancers and fellow choreographers.

Class description:

Doron's class is a supportive space dedicated to the exploration of movement. Through guided action and imagery, we will learn to be more grounded and present in our bodies, discover new sensations, build strength, flexibility and expression through movement. This is an opportunity to sink into your dance, express yourself, hear your inner voice and find freedom in movement.

Bio:

Doron started dancing Israeli folk at the age of 8 and was then trained in ballet, contemporary, and composition at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance (Israel). He danced with the Croatian National Theatre (Split), Compañía Nacional de Danza (Madrid), and the Batsheva Ensemble (Tel Aviv). Now living in New York City, Doron is a Gaga Movement teacher, dances and works as Associate Director with ZviDance, is an independent choreographer, performer, and educator. He was listed in "Best Performers of 2016" by Dance Magazine, received three Extraordinary Ability in the Arts O-1 Visas, and is a LABA fellow for the 14th street Y.
