Dutch Kills Green

Dutch Kills Green Maddie Irmen

Dutch Kills Green is a re-invention of the tour experience. Usually, participants gain knowledge or understanding from a built environment that is privately controlled. The West Harlem Art Fund is offering new experiences in the public realm where people can interact with each other more and connect. The Fleet, in collaboration with the curator Savona, developed six dance videos. The works creatively share several narratives about the colonial Dutch Kills settlement and its Native American history. Tour participants can choose one or more narratives to explore the dances as they spend time walking through this new plaza with their smartphones or tablets in the heart of LIC.
