Eva Dean Dance (EDD) is a Brooklyn-based Neo Contemporary dance company - Inventive, Intrepid and Versatile. Founded in 1985, EDD is known for its imaginative repertory and vibrant performances that are atmospheric, conceptually dynamic, kinetic and humorous. Throughout the years Eva Dean's choreography has received critical acclaim and accolades from audiences, presenters and students. Dean is recognized as a consummate professional who creates work that uses multiple elements to bring her choreographic vision to life. Choreographic intent that embraces intuition is the spring- board for Dean's creative process, and her unique movement is honed and crafted while working with her dance company. Dean also works closely with guest artists such as musicians, puppet masters, lighting, and set and costume designers to create a visually rich body of work, which, as a result, is diverse in scope, giving its audiences enduring memories. EDD has performed at numerous venues and festivals both nationally and internationally, including the New York International Fringe Festival, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, Amsterdam Fringe Festival, and Prague Fringe Festival. Site-specific works and family audience productions are one of the company's specialties and they have enjoyed the challenge of creating work for various landscapes from empty swimming pools to 19th century barns, from staircases to botanical gardens. Dean has also taught numerous master and guest artist workshops for students of all ages in public schools, colleges, and internationally, most recently at k77 studio in Berlin, Germany.
