Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart - NIJINSKI

A woman dancer in a green leotard strikes a pose with her arms outstretched to the side. Regina Brocke

Acclaimed for its “technical precision, theatrical charisma, and absolute commitment” (Boston Globe), Gauthier Dance // Dance Company Theaterhaus Stuttgart, the company of 16 talented dancers directed by dancer, choreographer, and musician Eric Gauthier makes its Joyce debut with the New York premiere of NIJINSKI.  Created by Marco Goecke, the house choreographer of Stuttgart Ballet, this full-length ballet examines the extraordinary but painful life of Vaslav Nijinski as a way of making a larger point about the close relationship between art and madness.
