Global Water Dances Movement Workshop w/ Artichoke Dance Company

FREE DYNAMIC MOVEMENT WORKSHOPS

Artichoke Dance Company will be teaching the opening and closing sections of "Water Dances". Workshop participants are invited to perform with Artichoke on June 24th at the Gowanus Canal as a part of the Global Water Dances Day, an international platform to raise awareness of water issues and advocate for access to clean water worldwide.

We're also hosting FREE COSTUME MAKING WORKSHOPS. Gather plastic bags and bring them. We’ll create elaborate costumes to be worn at Global Water Dances Day on the Gowanus Canal.

GLOBAL WATER DANCES DAY ON GOWANUS CANAL

Saturday, June 24

1:00: Eco-tour of the Gowanus Canal by the Gowanus Canal Conservancy

2:00: Costume parade and dance performance with music by Keur Djembe

12:30-3:30: Interactive exhibits and informational tables

Promenade at Whole Foods Third and 3rd, 3rd Street between 3rd Avenue and Bond Street, Brooklyn

Global Water Dances is an international platform to raise awareness of water issues and advocate for access to clean water worldwide. Artichoke Dance Company is a Brooklyn based arts organization committed to upcycling materials that are headed to landfills for its productions. Global Water Dances on the Gowanus Canal is their third collaboration.
