GrahamDeconstructed

PeiJu Chien-Pott in Martha Graham's Cave of the Heart Brigid Pierce

The Martha Graham Dance Company’s May GrahamDeconstructed event will focus on the Martha Graham Technique, Graham’s codified physical vocabulary that has been compared to classical ballet in its scope. The evening will include a discussion about the creation of the technique and its essential elements. The Company will demonstrate highlights from a Graham class and will dance excerpts from Graham works that show the use of the technique as a language for the stage. Featured works include two solos for Medea from Cave of the Heart and “Steps in the Street” from Chronicle.
