Hula Class with Richard Sayama

(headshot with caption) Ellen Maynard

Richard Sayama educates viewers of the origins of Hula and how it has evolved under the influence of western colonization. The class begins with a warm-up that incorporates the fundamental basics that are still used today in both Kahiko (traditional) and A'uana (Contemporary) Hula. The 2nd class is dedicated to teaching choreography that encompasses both traditional and contemporary styles.
