Immersive Performance Skills: Spontaneity and Structure

Third Rail Projects By Joshua Reaver

In most immersive and site-specific performances, where anything can happen, a balance of spontaneity and specificity, and the ability to make quick and thoughtful on-the-spot choices is a key skill for responding to audience and fellow performers. To do this, it’s also vital that we invest in a solid structure that supports us. In this workshop, Third Rail Projects company member Edward Rice introduces improvised movement and text-based techniques that practice spontaneity and responsiveness within a set structure.
