Joyce Master Class Series at Gibney - BalletX

Class Description:
Enjoy a classical ballet warm-up with company member Caili Quan before learning some of signature BalletX repertoire. Students will be exposed to the company’s methodology as well as nuances and inflections of each choreographer’s voice.

Instructor Bio:

Caili Quan started her dance training in her native Guam under the direction of John Grensback and Bettina Sanzotta. At the age of 16, she moved from Guam to New York City to continue her classical training at Ballet Academy East. In 2007, Caili received a scholarship to be a trainee with Richmond Ballet, and in 2009, she received an apprenticeship with Charlotte Ballet. During her training, she performed works by George Balanchine, Marius Petipa, and Malcolm Burn, among others. In 2019, Caili became the first BalletX dancer commissioned to premiere a choreographic work on the full company while still dancing in the company. Caili joined BalletX in January 2013.
