Join Kate Weare Company for real exploration of what makes a great performance – honest, authentic, decisive work in the studio that will translate to the stage.

Utilizing ideas from company repertory, dancers will explore the fundamentals of great performing, including:

Clear and thoughtful intent
Nuanced phrasing
Sensitivity to self and other
Moment-to-moment decisions that shape meaning in the viewer’s eye
Authenticity that evokes a response both visceral and honest

The daily schedule includes Creative Process workshops led by Kate Weare. Building from performance fundamentals explored throughout these sessions, evening hours will delve deeper into the intricacies of connecting with the audience through partnering. The evening sessions will be led by Assistant Director Douglas Gillespie and will focus on the collaborative composition of a work to be performed at the end of the intensive.
