These dance-theater classes are for anyone who wants to move and express their body/minds while also connecting to others in the room.

We will research ideas like:

Supportive and benevolent witnessing of ourselves and each other.

Generating movement based on text and emotional states.

We will dive into serious play and find ways to experience dance and theatricality in honest and non-performative ways even while being witnessed.

*These classes are made for people 16 and older, however children 15 and under are welcome to participate with their parent or guardian. This is in hopes to create less limitations for parents who want to take dance classes*

Accessibility

Prompts will be written on large paper in the room.

Participants are welcome to break, lay, rest, witness and do what you gotta do at any time.

ASL is available upon request. To request ASL please email morgaine at info.redrose.dancetheater@gmail.com.

The studio space is in the Mana Contemporary building, the whole building has ramps, large hallways, and ADA compliant bathrooms on each floor. The entrance to the studio has one 6-inch step and I am working with the venue to get a suitcase ramp.

Water, pillows, and chairs will be available as well as toys for stimulation.

Check-ins about access, physical and emotional states will be taken extremely seriously

Please test for COVID before you arrive (we might have some extra tests but might run out)

Masks are welcome and encouraged especially for partner work

Hand sanitizer will be throughout the space

Air purifier will be in the space

Everyone will have their boundaries around touch, closeness, and contact respected.

Open audio description is in my practice already but can be vamped up upon request by Blind/LV participants.
