Listen to Your Mother, live performance and film

Anabella Lenzu Lenzu

The unique Argentinian dancer/actress/storyteller ANABELLA LENZU will present the 20-minute film premiere along with a live performance of her LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER, also featuring her darling young daughter Fiamma Lenzu-Carroll.  Lenzu's very personal work is bold, wise, and unpredictable as it deals with immigrant mothers living in NYC.  Anabella seeks to capture these underrepresented women's stories to inspire dialogue, appreciation, and social support in place of the ongoing prejudice experienced by mothers and women in the arts.  (The film portion of the event has been made possible by a NYSCA grant for Film and Experimental video.)  Choreography is by Lenzu, with added solo by Isadora Duncan, coached by Catherine Gallant; text is by Lenzu and Jerzy Grotowski.
