Michiyaya presents 'Higher' Michael Discenza

Presented by the Brooklyn Dance Festival and under Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance, Michiyaya Dance will perform at Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturday 'A Breath of Fresh Air' on April 2nd at 7 pm. Free Admission. Brooklyn Museum's Target First Saturday lasts from 5 to 11 pm.

Michiyaya Dance is an all women's contemporary dance theater company based in New York City. Co-founded in summer 2015 by Anya Clarke and Mitsuko Verdery, Michiyaya Dance merges the worlds of both Clarke and Verdery's background in dance and visual art. The mission of Michiyaya Dance is to create interdisciplinary, provocative and stimulating work. As an improv-based company, their work is collaborative and exploratory. Clarke takes on the role as the choreographer creating visceral and intuitive movement. Verdery is the Visual Art Designer applying her experience with performance art, video and photography to their work. Michiyaya Dance has performed at CPR- Center for Performance Research, Spoke the Hub’s Winter Follies Showcase and the Williamsburg Movement and Arts Center’s Intimate Series.
