Neshamah Company Classes: Pay-What-You-Can
Neshamah Founder and Artistic Director Hannah Cohen will be teaching our pay-what-you-can company classes this Summer. Classes will be on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM on June 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd at Union St. Dance.
On June 1st the class will be accompanied by Jordan T. Chiolis.
Jordan T. Chiolis is a percussionist, composer and electronic music artist living and working in New York City. His interaction and collaboration within the dance scene graciously continues to grow and most recently includes collaborating with Andrea Miller & Gallim Dance, Doug Varone and Dancers, David Dorfman Dance, Paul Taylor Dance Company and most recently, Kyle Abraham & Abraham.In.Motion. In December of 2015, Jordan composed a live electronic and percussive score for Gallim Dance's world premiere, WHALE, which premiered at the Joyce Theater. Previously, Jordan worked alongside Gallim to produce eight by eight, an interactive sound, movement and video installation which premiered at Lincoln Center in October of 2014. In the academic realm, he has been an on-staff musician and composer at the dance schools of Hofstra University, New York University and the New School. Jordan has earned a Bachelor of Science in Jazz and Commercial Music from Hofstra University where he studied with acclaimed composers: Arthur Solari and Herbert Deutsch, alongside celebrated jazz drummer/composer, Matt Wilson.
