ABOUT: Celebrating the opening of a visual art exhibition, this performance piece flips the art world’s traditional celebratory soiree on its head. Built on archetypes of gallery culture, this performance imagines a world between reality and dreamscape in which everyone wears their hearts on their sleeves and not only says what they are thinking but acts on it.

Directed and produced by morgaine ann de leonardis, Opening Reception includes an exhibition of local art designed by Natalie Adam and curated by morgaine and Natalie, housed in Jersey City's Eonta Space art gallery. Performances by Lauren Farber, Anna Gichan, Rebecca Gual, Katelyn Halpern, and Sonya Rio-Glick.

Opening Reception is the premiere work of Red Rose Community Dance Theater, a platform for performances, exhibitions, events, and workshops in Jersey City, for Jersey City, directed and produced by morgaine ann de leonardis. Notable past projects include No Place Like Home, an intimate, interactive dance-theater performance at the Box Cafe on Palisade Ave, an appearance at Art House Production's Diner En Blanc in Lincoln Park, and The Fight in the lobby of the historic Loew's Theater in the 2019 Your Move Dance Festival.
