RENAYUNG : JOURNEY OF LIVING TRADITION ( to QUEENS the Epicenter of the Epicenter of the Positive Diverse Culture and Tradition)

Renayung*: Journey of Living Tradition ( to Queens the Epicenter of the Epicenter of the Positive Diverse Culture and Tradition) a program that manifest the resilience of immigrant communities by continually remembering the empowerment of culture and tradition that has been passed on through generation by their ancestors in their countries of origin and became a signature of Queens, New York where the struggling immigrant communities have found  safe spaces where the rich contributions that the immigrants has given to New York City.

*Renayung is the name of the magical boat of Bantogen the hero of the epic Derangen which is the oldest unwritten epic in the Philippines shared among the Meranao, Maguindanao and Iranun.

These 5 episodes are  products of resilience filmed during Phase 2 opening a healing response to COVID 19 of Kinding Sindaw and the featured Artists from Nepal, India and Indonesia.

Odissi - this dance title is Sarva Mangala Mangalye (a ritual dance for Goddess Durga seeking protection, peace and fulfillment)

Bharata Natyam- this dance title is Mooshika Vahana , Ganesh Thodayam an invocation seeking blessings from Lord Ganesh for removal of obstacles

Indonesia: Amalia Suryani  Artistic Director of Saung Budaya, Tari Blantek ( from island of Jakarta), Tari  Piring ( from West Sumatra)

Nepal: Parbati Rai 

Nepali patriotic dance” Head Rises High , the Light Shines in Darkness

The school director is opposite the dancer and wears a red DTH logo t-shirt and black pants and ballet slippers.
