SCREENDANCE INTENSIVE

March 8-10, 2019 

Choreographer/Director Sarah Elgart launches her second, 3-day Screen Dance Intensive to be held at Electric Lodge in Venice, CA from March 8-10, 2019. Designed for dancers, choreographers, and directors, the Intensive provides an in-depth introduction to and hands on experience of creating compelling movement content for camera. From screenings and discussion to creating, filming, and editing material, participants expand their own visual style and gain exposure to the international genre of Screen Dance, as well as the power & possibility of using this content on all promotional platforms.

This 3-day intensive covers/explores/includes:

- The international genre of screen-dance from commercial to purely creative with screenngs, discussions and special guests from the worlds of dance & film

- The language of dance on film from script to screen: exploring the intersections of dance and camera including conception, choreography, shooting, lighting and editing of dynamic dance content

"Setiquette": navigating through and understanding the basics of a professional working production and set

- A takeaway of professionally filmed dance footage for use on reels and promotional platforms
