Take Root presents Danaka Dance and Dances by Catherine Tharin

Take Root presents Danaka Dance and Dances by Catherine Tharin Roy Rochlin and Joyce Fabrik

Take Root with Danaka Dance and Dances by Catherine Tharin on June 5th & 6th

Danaka Dance: The work will thoroughly investigate the visceral sensation of time and the importance of the tangible memories we carry with us wherever we go. Exploring where memories go and where are they stored in our minds, this work aims to give the observer an opportunity to sense something that has always been there and is there to stay.

..."When her precise, slinky solo cycled by in front of you, it was one thing that you wanted to spend more time with."  (Siobhan Burke, The New York Times)

Dances by Catherine Tharin: Catherine Tharin choreographs intimate, jewel-like dances that are compelling, wistful, and filled with possibility, hope, and poetic power. Carried by movement that is lush, snappy, and vigorous, the work exists in a compact, personal world. The choreography confides in the audience by slowly disclosing an elegant, nuanced movement narrative that traces an emotional and rhythmic arc.

“…dances and film all interconnected through an overarching theme of intimacy - the raw bite of it as well as its ability to lull bodies to surrender and submit.” Diane Vivona, The Dance Enthusiast
