The Nutcracker; "Welcome To New York Suite-y"

Lindsay Johnson as The Rat Queen And Michael Quimen Sanchez as her Cavalier Jay Krempa

This holiday season, American Liberty Ballet brings its own NYC-based version of the Nutcracker to the stage at the Theater at St Jean’s in Manhattan.

“The Nutcracker: Welcome to New York Suite-y,” is a delightfully twisted take on the holiday classic that follows Clara, Fritz, and family on a visit their grandparents and Uncle Drosselmeyer in (where else?!) but New York, Suitey!

Clara and Fritz are two troublsome siblings who are always fighting! But when Fritz is kidnapped by her pet rat, Clara and her Nutcracker must search the city to find her. From Subway Performers to a Vegan Bakery in the Village, this original ballet is a love song to NYC and will definitely captivate the entire family!

Premiering as the Rat Queen we have ALB Principal Lindsay Johnson, The Snow Queen will be performed by radiant ALB Soloist Lucie Schultz, Dewy Diamon will be perfomed by ALB Principal Allie Hutchins, and this years Sugar Plum will be performed by ALB soloist Giulia Cirulli, coming all the way from Italy to dazzle you with virtuosic technique like you've never seen.

Concept, storyline, and choreography by ALB Artistic Director Valerie Mae Browne directing a company of over 20 artists as well as students from ALB’s official academy.

Join us for a non-stop flight of fun at the Theater of St Jeans on 76th Street and Lexington Ave in Manhattan.
