In the belly of a crane / our secrets rest considers temporal enfolding of past-, present-, and future-embodied collectives. Choreographed and performed by Treeline Dance Works, the theater transforms into a portal where intimate exchanges take place and an ethics of care is practiced. The work explores the proximity between cooperative patterns found in nature and forms of relationality in performance while questioning how the responsive action of many can imagine new worlds.

Treeline Dance Works is a New York City and Chicago-based contemporary dance co-op under the direction of founders Jenny Showalter and Lyndsey Vader. It is the mission of Treeline Dance Works to honor the creative voices and artistic input of its multiple collaborators through joint investment in movement research. With an emphasis on an open feedback forum, this collaborative entity explores juxtapositions in movement, intermingling the quirky with the athletic, the subtle with the explosive, and the intimate with the communal. The company creates kinesthetically charged works rooted in the wellspring of memories, thoughts, and encounters.
