For the brief windows before and after each performance, the space remains open to the public and performers will be available to speak with visitors.

Inboxes full of text messages, emails, voicemails, and notifications. People walking into each other, trees and poles on the sidewalk. Headphones in, announcements over loudspeakers, strangers asking for spare change, and signs begging for your business. Is there such a thing as a private moment anymore? Is it even possible to complete a thought without it being interrupted by an entirely different idea? It seems that the potential for withdrawal from these kinds of bombardments is slowly but steadily becoming a thing of the past.

Violation Withdrawal is a continuation of the work presented by 5th Digit at Anita's Way in November 2015.

About the Company
5th Digit Dance, founded by Cassandra Cotta in December, 2015, aims to create athletic, intriguing and relevant material through a highly collaborative process in which each individual performer is viewed as an equal choreographer.

Since its founding, 5th Digit has performed all over NYC - at Green Space, the West End Theater and the Old First Reformed Church in Brooklyn. In February, 2016, they were named "first runners up" in MTV's "Dancing with DNCE Contest" and had a clip of their dance video presented on air. 5th Digit performed a version of Violation Withdrawal as part of the Ruby Slipper Fringe Festival in North Carolina. They are excited to continue their creative process with performances slated for May, 2016 with the Hoover Dam Collective and winter, 2017 in Spoke the Hub's new Gowanus space.

About the Choreographer
Cassandra Cotta is originally from Point Pleasant, New Jersy. She holds a BFA in modern dance performance from Temple University in Philadelphia and, under the direction of her mentor, Daniel Giel, became a certified Pilates instructor through Sal Anthony's Movement Salon in NYC.

She has worked with many different choreographers and companies throughout the NYC and Philadelphia areas including Chrismastersdance, Malcolm Low/Formal Structure, Kun-Yang Lin/Dancers, and Human Architecture.
