Vision Festival 21 – Patricia Nicholson’s Breath and Stone

Each is one - separate, together, listening, responding and changing what is around us. With respect and responsibility we are in motion this is how we will come together each individual as truefully themselves

Now in this Time

Breathe in.... Excerpt from Breathe a poem to be performed P. Nicholson

Patricia Nicholson’s professional career has been immersed in the aesthetic of free jazz, with the understanding that the Freedom in FreeJazz is a challenge to be one’s most unique and demanding self. The use of composition and improvisation has been influenced by this consistent relationship. Ms. Nicholson has developed her unique approach drawing freely from traditional and non-traditional techniques to create an eclectic approach to intuitive movement and composition. Dance is not the ‘style’ or technique, it is movement itself, with a meaning informed by context and energy. Ms. Nicholson has brought her freeJazz collaborations to Festivals and stages around the world.

Yoshiko Chuma is a world acclaimed conceptual artist, dancer, choreographer and the artistic director of the Bessie Award winning company School of Hard Knocks based in New York and Japan.
