UPCA celebrates the United Palace’s new surround sound system by screening one of cinema’s greatest achievements in sound.

Synopsis WALL-E (2008) is about a trash compactor robot who works to clean a largely abandoned city. One day he meets a space probe, whom he falls in love with and pursues across the galaxy. Starring the voices of Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin, Fred Willard, John Ratzenberger, Kathy Najimy, Sigourney Weaver, and the MacInTalk system. Directed by Andrew Stanton and written by Stanton and Jim Reardon. 98 minutes.
"Movies at the Palace" take place at the stunning United Palace, formerly the Loew's 175th Street Theatre that first opened as a deluxe movie theatre and vaudeville house in 1930. We honor that past while reinventing the movie-going experience by pairing classic titles with pre-show entertainment and expert Q&A’s. The year-long series of “Movies that Reawaken Wonder”celebrates both the Palace’s past as a Wonder Theatre and recent cinematic rebirth, including Lin-Manuel Miranda’s 2016 donation of a DCP projector.
