In this two-part workshop, participants will use movement to explore the concept of Diaspora—from Africa, Diaspora, Emancipation, Great Migration, Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights/Black Power, and Hip Hop. Part one will lay the foundation in social cultural context. Part two will continue the exploration of Hip Hop, and explore the Afro-Future: What are the aesthetics of the Afro-future?
