After a sold-out run in 2008, award-winning Yuko Takahashi Dance Company returns to New York! Yuko Takahashi creates original dance theater with mesmerizing mix of impeccable technique and poetic expression that depicts resonant themes in modern society. The program includes "To The Place Where Dreams Come True," which illustrates the distress of living in today’s world; "Waves: Adrift In The Pacific" depicts John Manjiro, a Japanese citizen who became a cultural bridge with America 150 years ago drifting in the ocean; "Before The Longing For Those One Lost," an emotional dilemma that stems from sending loved ones to the war; "The Wild Duck" takes inspiration from Ibsen’s metaphorical play and "Callous Neighbors Don’t Bother To Sleep Again Tonight," a study of human conflicts through richly expressive choreography.
