ndiCOMMUNITY: A Celebration of Hair!

ndiCOMMUNITY logo with a photo of Paula and the outside of the NDI Center in Harlem

National Dance Institute is excited to partner with our Harlem neighbors and local businesses to present ndiCOMMUNITY, a series of events that build connections and celebrate our community. Every event is open to families, offered free of charge, and features the unique pairing of an NDI class with an educational experience provided by one of our partners. Come to learn something new, dance together, and get to know more of the people and places of Harlem.

A Celebration of Hair with Paula Broadwater and Harlem Natural Hair

In our first event of the series, NDI partners with Harlem Natural Hair on a virtual event for the whole family! Paula Broadwater, owner of Harlem Natural Hair, will share styling tips and teach us about the culture of hair. NDI Teaching Artists will get everyone moving in a mini-dance class with live music.

Bring your curly crowns and your straight ones, your locks of every length, and prepare to let your hair down as we learn, connect, and strut our stuff on the virtual dance floor!

While we can't be together in our Harlem neighborhood, we are excited to gather with you on Zoom.
