Chen Dance Center presents "newsteps," its semi-annual emerging choreographer's series.  Since 1994, the theater has supported and presents hundreds of young choreographers and dancers developing new work.  Chosen through an open audition before a panel that includes H.T. Chen, Lance Westergard and Walter Rutledge, the young dancemakers who will show works in January are Seneca Lawrence, Christina Coleman, Evelyn Chen, Matilda Sakamoto and Rashida Lyles.  Each will receive a stipend, and free rehearsal space and three public performances at the Chen Dance Center.
