nia love UNDERcurrents at Harlem Stage Nic Petry

Harlem Stage presents WaterWorks Established artist, Bessie and Herb Alpert Award-winning dancer and choreographer, nia love, and her collaborators, in UNDERcurrents. Through dance and live music, the work explores themes of water and doors and centers the infamous Middle Passage, where human beings were transported across the Atlantic Ocean to a life of enslavement, as “the door of no return.”  Don’t miss this powerful and immersive experience at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse!

Dancers Cyan Hunter, Diana Uribe, j. bouey, Jesse Phillips-Fein, Jessica Ziegler, Lela Aisha Jones, Makeda Lily Love-Roney, and Marco Farroni; and with the composer-musicians Antoine Roney, Emanuel Ruffler, Jeremiah Ka’lab, and Kojo Roney.
