Department of Cultural Affairs Announces Fiscal 2012 Deadline

Please be advised that the Department of Cultural Affairs expects to release the Fiscal 2012 Cultural Development Fund application on Monday, January 3rd, with a Monday, February 7th submission deadline. While the deadline is earlier than it has been since the process went online, the application itself, and all additional requirements, are otherwise unchanged from last year. We will notify your organization by email when the application is available on our website, www.nyc.gov/culture.

Any arts or cultural organization is eligible to apply for funds for cultural activities taking place between July 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012, unless that organization is currently receiving multi-year support in either the Fiscal 2010-12 or Fiscal 2011-13 grant cycles. Those organizations will be required to submit a Fiscal 2012 Renewal in Spring 2011.

The Fiscal 2012 CDF application is comprised of two parts: the online form (submitted via DCA’s website) as well as required Supplementary Materials (submitted via mail or hand-delivery). Again this year, the Supplementary Materials must include a CDF Funders Report, which you can download from your organization’s Cultural Data Project profile. We most recently notified your organization about how to fulfill this requirement in mid-November. Be sure you have completed the FY09 Cultural Data Project data profile in time to comply with DCA’s anticipated February 7, 2011 deadline.

We strongly encourage your organization to attend one of the application seminars DCA will be conducting throughout the application period, and have attached the FY12 Seminar Schedule for your review. You’ll want to mark your calendar: DCA will begin accepting reservations on January 3rd, following the release of the online application.

Finally, if you have not already done so, please Register on DCA’s website immediately to establish your DCA account and access the Fiscal 2012 application materials as soon as they are available. Previous notices regarding the revised Registration procedures were sent to your organization in September and November. Instructions on how to register, if you have not yet done so, can be found here.
