Mayor Releases Executive Budget, Fiscal Year 2015

Last week, we approached the final stretch of New York City budget season with the release of the Mayor’s Executive Budget, Fiscal Year 2015. The Executive Budget allocates $148 million to the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, which represents an approximately $.5 million decrease from preliminary financial plans due to technical adjustments (Visit the DCLA website for details). The Executive Budget also invests in New York City children with a $23 million allocation to arts education in the public schools. As City leadership works toward enacting a budget for the year ahead, please follow news on DanceNYC.org and join us in making the case for public support of dance and dance education.
